The ECEs of the City Of Prince Rupert bring you “National Children’s Day”
Prince Rupert
To support the leadership capacity of early childhood educators the project team created partnerships with community stakeholders to highlight the importance of the Rights of the Child and acknowledge Universal Day of the Child. They invited their community to partake in the day and extended an invitation to the surrounding communities such as Lax Kw’alaams, Metlakatla, Gitga’at, Kitkatla and Port Edward.
The event at the Civic Centre welcomed families and children for a day of fun events, activities and performers that highlighted the vital work that ECE’s undertake daily while encouraging parents to ask questions and be more involved in the early childhood programs. Their goal was that greater community understanding of their work would bring more support for their sector and the children in their community while also empowering the Early Childhood Educators.
Booths were set-up to highlight Childcare Centre’s in their area which are staffed by ECE’s and a slide show showcased ECEs and the work they do.
